Safeguarding our minds is just as vital as safeguarding venues and people

I officially launched No Guard Alone at International Security Expo late last year and I was overwhelmed by the incredible interactions afterwards. The fact the message resonated so strongly reminded me why this campaign matters so much.
So what is No Guard Alone?
It’s simple: no frontline security professional - no matter where they are, what shift they’re on, or what they’re facing - should feel like they have to carry the weight of their struggles alone.
Because safeguarding our minds is just as vital as safeguarding venues and people.
What struck me most yesterday was how many people shared their own stories with me. Vulnerability has a way of breaking down walls - the moment we drop the mask, the judgement barrier disappears. And in that space, people feel safe enough to open up, sometimes sharing things they’ve never told another soul.
And if you want to know what success looks like for No Guard Alone, it’s simple:
👉 A guard finishes a shift and feels truly seen.
👉 A manager notices something’s wrong and knows how to help.
👉 A suicide is prevented - not by luck, but by design.
👉 An industry begins to change, not because it has to, but because it wants to.
That’s the vision.
That’s the commitment.
That’s No Guard Alone.
