IPSA CEO Satia Rai will be speaking at a major industry event to support awareness and understanding of Protect Duty (Martyn's Law) with health care environments.
Organised by IPSA members SGC Security Services, in joint collaboration with Kettering General Hospital (KGH), the webinar is aimed at NHS colleagues and those working in security and safety roles. An upcoming visit to KGH will be used as a live example of how proportionate security measures and preparedness can be delivered in a busy, open hospital setting, supporting patient safety, staff confidence and operational resilience.
Satia will be joining keynote speaker Figen Murray OBE, who will speak about why Martyn’s Law was introduced following the Manchester Arena attack, what the legislation is designed to achieve, and what it will mean in practice for healthcare settings. The focus will be on clear, practical understanding rather than complex policy detail. Representing the frontline workers, Satia will share sector and real-world insight into how the Protect Duty can be applied effectively.
Taking place on Thursday, 14th May, the webinar will be hosted by Paul Macarthur, Managing Director and Founder of SGC Security Services.
By bringing together healthcare, security and professional bodies, SGC Security Services and KGH aim to support learning, collaboration and preparedness across the NHS.
Anyone interested in attending the webinar should contact media@sgcsecurityservices.co.uk by 4pm on Wednesday 13th May for the joining link.
