Key Requirements:

• Risk assessment integrated throughout planning and operations

• Site surveys considering emergency scenarios and other service providers

• Operational planning including counter-terror awareness and human factors

• Clear distinction between employed vs deployed personnel

Purpose: Ensure professional, safe, and compliant static guarding services.


BS 10800:2020 – Provision of Security Services


Scope: Umbrella standard for all security services.


Key Requirements:

• Define organisational roles and governance

• Risk and opportunity management

• Standardised operational controls across service types

• Continuous improvement and compliance audits


Purpose: Provide a unified framework for managing security services.


BS 7958:2015 – CCTV Management and Operation


Scope: Code of practice for CCTV systems in public spaces.


Key Requirements:

• Installation and operation meeting legal and technical standards

• Compliance with GDPR and surveillance laws

• Ethical monitoring and secure storage of footage


Purpose: Guarantee CCTV systems are operated responsibly and effectively.


BS 7960:2016 – Door Supervision
