IPSA Training - Course Details

PTLLS (Preparing To Teach In The Lifelong Learning Sector) Course

SAFE offer the Edexcel Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) programme, which is recognised by the SIA as a suitable qualification for those providing training for licensed qualifications. In addition, Lifelong Learning UK, the government approved standards body for the education sector, recognise the qualification as the minimum requirement for those wishing to deliver post 16 education.

The SAFE programme provides a training study and exercise book, computer based training, and a five day off the job skills development and portfolio building course.

Course content

The course includes the following subject areas:

• Your role and your responsibilities;
• Teaching in your specialist area;
• Planning and planning skills;
• Inclusive learning;
• Assessment.

The course is recognised as a 60 hour programme, with approximately 24 hours of pre-course study and 36 hours of learning provided during the course.

Certification

Successful students receive an Edexcel PTLLS Level 3 Award.
