TRAIN the TRAINER COURSE
|
These courses are offered in
two forms :
|
(1) a five day residential
course aimed at persons required to train employees.
The course is suitable for persons and companies
wishing to run in-house induction courses for
Security Guards, in order to comply with the British
Standards Code of Practice for Manned Guarding
(BS7499). The course covers researching and creating
your own material and courses, so is relevant
to persons wishing to train others in any skill
(subject to their own sector competence and expertise).
(2) A similar course run
over two residential weekends usually four weeks
apart. This course is aimed at persons who wish
to join the Corp of IPSA Trainers and /or become
employed or self employed trainers. A training
project is set which involves identifying training
needs, designing and presenting a detailed training
syllabus, preparing and presenting a costed proposal
for delivery of the training to the client. |
In each case the course requires
some pre-course preparation and evening work during
the residential periods.
The course is assessed and certificated by IPSA.
Note: This course is not at present
independently accredited and does not deliver a nationally
recogised teaching qualification as required by the
SIA for trainers of SIA approved qualifications. Steps
are being taken to obtain accreditation and the required
qualification for this course.

RISK ANALYSIS AND SECURITY SURVEYING
- 3 days
|
This comprehensive two-day course
is designed to enhance the operational ability of those
who have the responsibility for conducting Risk Analysis
and Surveys of buildings for clients for the purpose
of determining security and guarding requirements. The
course covers the full requirements of the British Standards:
BS7499 and BS7960.
The course is assessed and certificated by IPSA.

L2 BTEC AWARD IN SECURITY OPERATIONS
- 3 days
|
This course forms Part 1 of the
required security officer training for licencing. It
covers the syllabus of the Edexcel/ BTEC Award and designed
to ensure the operational ability of security officers
and provides the necessary underpinning knowledge for
the industry's
National Vocational Qualification - Security, Safety
and Loss Prevention at Level 2.
The course has a high practical content and includes:-
Role and Duties of Security Personnel, Perspectives
on Crime, Reception and Patrolling Duties, Law, Searching,
Notebooks and Reports, Arrest and Evidence, Health and
Safety, Drugs and Alcohol Abuse, Fire Prevention and
Control, Emergency Procedures and an end of course assessment
conducted under examination conditions.
IPSA currently offers these courses through associated
training partners.
Successful students receive an Awarding Body Certificate

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT COURSES
(1 and 2 day courses)

Under the SIA guidelines Security
Operatives and Door Supervisors will require to complete
and pass a Communications and Conflict Management Course
(Part 2 of the qualifications requirements) for licensing.
Security Operatives need a one day course and Door Supervisors
a 2 day course. An end of course assessment is conducted
under examination conditions.
IPSA currently offers these courses through associated
training partners.
Successful students receive an Awarding Body Certificate.

SECURITY SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT COURSE
- 4 days - residential or in house

This comprehensive course has
been designed to enhance the operational ability of
security officers who have, or are about to undertake,
supervisory responsibilities and provides the necessary
underpinning knowledge of supervisory management for
senior security officers, supervisors and managers.
Successful students receive an BTEC Level 3 Award .

MANAGING SECURITY COURSES -
5 days - residential
|
These high level courses are
aimed at senior managers and executives responsible
for security operations and the management of security
businesses and personnel, affording them an opportunity
to examine, study and discuss specialists subjects with
speakers of national repute. The course programs includes
subjects such as : Planning for Emergencies and Business
Continuity; Employment Legislation and Industrial Relations,
Regulation and Management of Security, Quality Management
and ISO 9001; Health and Safety at Work, Drugs and Alcohol
Abuse; Data Protection; Computer Security, Fire Precautions
and Security, Security Hardware and Electronic Security
systems.
These courses are held only once or twice a year and
attract an international audience.
The course is certificated by IPSA without assessment.
