Employer Sponsonsored Membership

The International Professional Security Association encourages individual membership for all persons employed in the security and associated industries. We have decided that where a number of potential members are employed by the same company, we should invite companies to engage in an employer sponsored membership scheme for their employees. By working with the employer to reduce the administrative procedures the Association can offer a bulk membership scheme at significantly reduced rates. Employers will be required to pay the subscriptions on behalf of the participating employees and may at their discretion decide either to recover the subscriptions from the staff concerned or regard the membership as an employee benefit or reward.

The concessionary subscription rates depend on the number of staff in a scheme. There are two tiers:

5 + employees              25% discount on current membership rates for each category
50+ employees             50% discount on current membership rates for each category

There is NO joining fee for the individuals.

There is an initial (one-off) administration fee payable by the company of £100 + VAT, which will be waived for IPSA member companies.

All employee sponsored members will receive the full range of rights and benefits enjoyed by individual members.

Companies would be able to advertise that they take part in the IPSA Employer Sponsored Membership scheme and use the IPSA logo alongside any mention of the ESM scheme.

The recommended logo use is: ESM logo

There will be a list of ESM scheme participant companies on the IPSA website.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The total employee subscriptions due for the year to be paid in a single payment by the employer.
  2. The employer provides the employee application information in a spreadsheet and will be accepted as a referee for each applicant.
  3. Where the individual holds an SIA licence, this will be accepted as the second reference (good character and working in security)
  4. Each company will have an annual renewal date. Additional members entering the scheme part way through the year would be charged for either a full 12 months subscription, if joining in the first six months after the renewal date, or 6 months subscription, if joining in the second six months, with future renewals in line with the remainder of that company’s employees.
  5. IPSA will contact the company with a list of names one month before the renewal date. The employer must confirm those employees that are renewing or have left their employment or the scheme. IPSA will invoice the company for the correct amount.
  6. Employers may continue to pay subscriptions each year for their staff and benefit from the reduced rate. Where the company chooses to withdraw from the scheme, all sponsored members will transfer to individual member status with subsequent subscription renewal requests being sent direct to the individuals at the full membership rates applicable at the time.
  7. Where the number of sponsored employees of a company drops below the respective scheme minimum, e.g. only 47 employees renewing in the second year, a 20% shortfall in numbers would be allowed without rendering the scheme inoperative or affect the subscription rates.
