What is
IPSA?
IPSA as an established and recognised
world-wide professional organisation, provides, in accordance
with growing demand, a specialised unrivalled service to industry/commerce.
There are no geographical boundaries in operation and the
highest technical standards are stringently applied in all
our dealings.
The Association operates
within the framework of fourteen regions which includes many
overseas countries. There is a clear understanding which is
spelt out in all our literature that the Association has no
trade union or political connections or aspirations.
THE
OBJECTS OF THE ASSOCIATION ARE AS FOLLOWS
TO ESTABLISH, promote
and encourage the science and professional practice of industrial
and commercial security and all operations and expedients
connected therewith.
TO PROMOTE and
make more effective security measures and to improve the status
of the individual by promoting a close liaison between all
members of the profession, thus making possible an exchange
of ideas, knowledge, information and experience in all matters
of common interest and mutual concern.
TO PROVIDE and
to promote a means for maintaining a comprehensive body of
the security profession and to collect, collate, co-ordinate,
and distribute by any means deemed advisable, data, information,
ideas, knowledge, methods and techniques for the benefit and
improvement of the security profession and its members.
TO ESTABLISH, foster
and encourage ethical and professional standards of work and
conduct for members of the security profession and to take
all such steps as are necessary and expedient in this connection.
TO MAKE SURVEYS AND
STUDIES, hold conferences, forums and training courses
and arrange for the presentation of lectures and the reading
of papers on matters and problems of interest to members of
the Association: to foster, promote, encourage and facilitate
discussion, study, and research on matters and problems of
all kinds connected with security; and generally to collect
and disseminate in any manner or by any means deemed appropriate,
information of interest to the Association members or to the
public at large.
TO OPERATE for
the benefit of the industry, commerce, the industrial security
professional in general and Association Members in particular,
an Appointments Bureau.
THERE
ARE NUMEROUS CATEGORIES OF MEMBERSHIP COVERING
- Persons wholly employed in the
industry
- Persons who are preparing to
come into the industry (i.e. Police Officers, Members
of the Armed Forces, students, etc.)
- Security Guarding Organisations
- Door Supervisors
- Businesses engaged in the manufacture
or supply of security equipment.
- Training Companies
- Consultant Companies
- Organisations who employ their
own security staff.
- Plus other types of business.

What
Can IPSA Provide?
IPSA offers membership
to those employed in Industrial or Commercial Security and
to those companies who supply services or materials used in
connection with Industrial or Commercial Security.
The Association provides
a number of training courses for Industrial or Commercial
Security personnel and management. See Training.
